Miami is built for creatives and adventure seekers. Miami has beautiful locations and scenery, great local dining and nightlife; it’s filled with culture and life. It’s nicknamed the “Capital of Latin America” and it’s Latin American influence really shows with all the diversity in the city. I am lucky to call Miami home!
Summer isn’t over just yet and if you currently live in South Florida or are planning on taking a trip down to Miami. Here are a few things to do in Miami before Summer is over!
Head to the Beach
Okay, you can’t visit Miami without checking out the beach! Grab a towel and some friends and sunbathe at some of Miami’s most famous locations. South Beach has great nightlife and dinning experiences, but if you are looking for a more family oriented outing then head down to Crandon Park where you can lounge by the sand or have a barbecue with the kids. Key Biscayne also has a great dog beach where you can bring along your four legged friend or just go on a paddle-boarding excursion. I also love to take beach bike rides where I rent City Bikes to explore Miami Beach!
Have a Cortadito and Try some Croquetas
Did you really visit Miami if you didn’t have a cortadito? Stop by Versailles on 8th street to immerse yourself in Miami’s culture. Meet some great people while you’re at it! Or you can visit La Carreta for a croqueta and their famous Cafe con Leche. You can read more about some of my favorite croqueta having restaurants in my Top 5 Best Places for Croquetas in Miami post.
Take a stroll through Coral Gables
Coral Gables is a beautiful community filled with shopping, dining, exquisite homes and local events for residents and tourists alike. You can take a walk to check out the local shopping, then grab a bite to eat at the many restaurants near the area. Coral Gables also offers the Venetian Pool, which is a 820,000 gallon pool filled with spring water from an underground aquifer. The pool is made out of coral rock quarry, which makes it a pretty unique destination! For about $20 per adult for non-residents, you can enjoy a swim in this destination.
Check out the Art in Wynwood:
Wynwood is filled with color and vibrancy all around! You can take a lunch stroll through the area and enjoy a beer or some great food at their local restaurants, all while being surrounded by local art and art galleries. The famous Wynwood Walls is a hot spot for tourists and locals alike, filled with art murals. Wynwood also host famous Art Basel events during Art Basel week in Miami.
Party all Night in Brickell
Brickell is known as Miami’s major financial district, where you can find office towers, hotels and apartments. The skyline is a gorgeous view! It’s also known for it’s nightlife and exquisite restaurants. You can bar hop around the area and try all sorts of cocktails along the way. Brickell has bars that occasionally host bar crawls so you can make a whole event out of it. This includes locations like Blue Martini, Baru, Sugar, Blackbird Ordinary and Batch Gastropub.
There’s countless more things to see here in Sunny Miami. Where the people are lively, the food is great and the party never ends!
