During the Holiday break, I decided to take the plunge and buy tickets to head out to San Francisco, California, where I had a friend that would be staying for a week for work. I decided to tag along on this business trip with a few other friends!
The trip started off rocky, with our flight being delayed, but this was expected due to the holiday season. We finally arrived to San Fran (about 5 hours later than expected), but we left our bags at the hotel and headed down to Pier 39 to have clam chowder for dinner at Boudin. We then had Biscoff cookies at the Biscoff store. We were staying near the Fisherman’s Wharf, so there were many places to see with just a quick walk, including food spots and souvenir stores.
Wine Country, Northern California
The next morning we woke up bright and early to be picked up by our tour. We booked an excursion that took us out for wine tasting in Northern California’s wine country. Before making it to wine country, our tour’s first stop was Muir Woods, where we spent some time admiring the landscape and the mesmerizing redwood trees.
After about an hour’s drive, we made it to our next stop, which was a winery in the Napa region. We tasted some delicious wine, explored the vineyard, and took in the views before heading back on the tour bus to take a drive to Sonoma. We stopped in the town to have lunch at a local spot (there were so many to choose from!). After lunch, we had two more wineries to visit in the Sonoma region before our tour took us back to our hotel. Before drop off, we were able to take a pitstop near the Golden Gate Bridge to enjoy the lights at night at a popular photo spot.
Things to see in San Fran
The next day was a rainy one. We had some breakfast at Cafe de Casa before exploring the Golden Gate Bridge’s views again. We also visited Lombard Street, rode a cable car, checked out the Palace of Fine arts, and headed over to check out the Painted Ladies. After an eventful day, we had a late lunch at In and Out for some good burgers and went souvenir shopping before calling it an early night. We had a quick happy hour at our hotel and got our bags ready for our departure the next morning.
Can’t wait to visit San Fran again soon! So many more things to add to this itinerary. Let me know some of your favorite things to do in San Francisco?
