St. Augustine, Florida
My boyfriend and I booked a trip to Savannah to celebrate the end the year and the beginning of 2018! First stop, St. Augustine, Florida. We arrived in St. Augustine and explored all the city had to offer. First on our to do list, the historic Castillo de San Marcos. After a quick dinner, we went on a ghost tour with Ghosts and Gravestones. We entered the haunted trolley of doom which took us to the Old Jail, old drugstore and more. I’m a fan of all things spooky, so I highly recommend checking them out.
The next day, we visited the St. Augustine Lighthouse to explore the museum and climb up to the top to take in the beautiful views. It’s a must in St. Augustine, and it’s quite the workout! We ended the St. Augustine visit with The Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park, such a gem! There’s educational shows and events for the whole family.
Savannah, Georgia
That same day, we headed up to Savannah, Georgia! We arrived at our gorgeous hotel that was in the center of the city. For the next two days we explored the city by foot and by horse and carriage; we took a little tour around the area to learn about Savannah’s history. We enjoyed the Riverfront views and took a mini wine tasting session at the Georgia Tasting Room.
It was now New Year’s Eve and the temperatures dropped, where to, where to? We decided to head to Wet Willie’s. There’s actually two in Savannah, one by River street that has an annual “Up the Cup” event but since it was such a cold and rainy night we stayed closer to our hotel and went to the Wet Willie’s at City Market. After a drink, we walked next door to a fun bar and took on the New Year there. What an adventure! The next morning we drove back down to Miami, can’t wait to go back to Savannah soon.
