I’ve had a few pets throughout my childhood, from turtles to parakeets. I loved growing up with animals! A few years ago my lifelong pet Lucy, a chihuahua mix, passed away from old age. She was the sweetest thing! I’ve always grown up with pups, so I knew I needed another pet in my life.
Most recently, I was able to find my beauty, Luna. She’s a Miniature Schnauzer. I was excited to get her a few goodies, and I found some of these great dog items that your pet may enjoy as well! This post includes Amazon affiliate links.
Dog Bed
There are a ton of dog beds out there, ranging in size and price. I wanted a classic look that’s simple and comfortable for my pup, but wasn’t out of my price range. I found this great bed at Marshall’s. I also was able to find the same one on Amazon! Check out this Cozy Dog Bed. I was actually inspired by my sister who bought it first for her Boston Terrier, Roxy. Boston’s love cuddling up under the covers, so it was great.
I decided to buy the same one but in a beige color to match my room decor. It also has this little flap where dogs can crawl right under and cover themselves up if they’re chilly. My dog loves it! She doesn’t use the cover often, but it’s a great option for your pet if they like hiding under sheets and blankets.
Harnesses + Collars
Let’s talk harnesses. I had to buy my dog a harness since she’s a tugger. It’s better overall for her health so she doesn’t hurt her throat and it’s easier when we go on walks. I bought mines at Petco. I found this great Voyager Harness on Amazon that has good ratings! Similar to the one I use for my dog.
Second, collars. I use collars on my pet so she can have her dog tag on and rabies tag; so my dog has it on her at all times. I also use collars for special occasions and events! I found these on Etsy and they’re so cute and comfy! Doesn’t seem to bother my dog. I was able to buy a few for casual wear, plus bought some for the holidays, including one for the Fall season, one for Halloween and one for Christmas! Helps us get festive at home!

Dog Treats
I recommend consulting with your vet before giving your dog any specific food or treats. They’ll be able to guide you on what’s best for the health of your dog depending on age, breed, etc.
My pup has been picky with food, but she loves all types of treats! I found Fruitables Skinny Minis Dog Treats at Marshall’s after a dog blogger I follow on Instagram shared them. They’re low calorie, so seems like a great option for training and daily treats for your pet. My dog loves the Pumpkin and Berry flavor.
I buy Greenies Original Petite Natural Dental Dog Treats for my pet to help freshen up their breath and clean their teeth. I brush my dog’s teeth after every bath, but I wanted an extra little something they’d enjoy while also helping keep those canines clean. My dog loves these!
Dog Toys
I love KONG products. They’re durable and tough. The chewers in our house can go through anything, so I like buying toys that will last. The Kong Classic Dog Toy is one of my absolute favorites. This toy has not been damaged by my dog whatsoever. You can also buy different treats that go well with this toy so the fun lasts for your pup. I also love their bone toys. This Puppy Goodie Bone is great for puppies that are teething or just your usual chewer. You can also place treats in the corners so your pet can play for longer. Then there’s the KONG Duramax Ball. This ball bounces so high and has been extremely durable in my household, unlike Tennis Balls. The dogs enjoy it!
More Goodies
Here are a few more items I bought for my Luna. I usually drive her from my house to my boyfriend’s house, so to keep her calm and safe while on the road, I bought her a seat belt. I bought mine on Chewy.com but it looks similar to this Pawaboo Dog Safety Vest Harness on Amazon. I also bought her these Dog Shoes/Boots so she can run around carefree in the grass without getting all muddy or dirty on those rainy days.

Another favorite of mine is dog puzzles! I bought the Outward Hound Ottosson Puzzle on Amazon and my dog loved it! This one’s an easier puzzle for your pup, but there are different stages and different types you can purchase for your pet. Lastly, if your puppy or dog has separation anxiety and you need a toy that will distract them a bit while you’re away, then be sure to look into this Dog Ball Treat Dispenser. This isn’t the same one I bought, I bought mine at Pet Supermarket, but it’s similar. You insert your dog’s food or treats and it slowly dispenses the food while your pup is playing with the toy. Making play time last a bit longer.
I hope you got some great ideas on items you can buy for your pet! Let me know if you have any recommendations on other products you’ve bought for your four legged friend.
