I recently wrote a post regarding Travel Souvenir Ideas and it seems the fridge magnet is the Nation’s Favorite Travel Holiday Souvenir! Daniel Scott Kitchens, an independent handmade kitchen company near Manchester UK, has a fun ‘Favourite Holiday Fridge Magnet Competition‘ currently open until the end of August to find the best holiday magnets out there, for your chance to win a holiday gift card to help you with your next trip!
I collect these magnets from most of the places I visit and just love to see them all hung up on my fridge. Watching the collection grow excites me and encourages me to continue to venture! I wanted to share a few of my favorite fridge magnets and the stories behind them.
St. Augustine & San Diego
To start off, my St. Augustine and San Diego travel magnets are two of my favorite souvenirs! I vividly remember my experiences and adventures at these locations since they were not too long ago. St Augustine’s magnet is thin but elegant, I was able to buy a few of them since they were such a good price! I gave them to my coworkers once I returned back home. It showcases the St. Augustine Lighthouse, which I was able to visit and concurred the steps; climbed to the top for awe-inspiring views.
Also, San Diego’s magnet is petite but the trip was so meaningful! It was a spontaneous trip for me since I was squeezed into a work trip itinerary, but it turned out to be such a wonderful time. I met people from all over the Caribbean and South America, and also zip-lined across the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.
Bimini
My all time favorite travel holiday souvenir has to be the shark/beer opener fridge magnet that my boyfriend and I bought in Bimini, Bahamas. It is the epitome of the Bahamas! The beer opener aspect showcases the Bahamas tropical feel, where you can just grab a drink and lounge by the beach.
The shark magnet also reminds travelers of the beautiful marine life that can be found in the Caribbean. It takes me back to the once in a life time experience of swimming with sharks in Bimini and snorkeling around the Sapona Shipwreck, where I saw all sorts of marine marvels! It was such a beautiful experience. Just a weekend getaway but I can’t wait to return someday!
