Halloween is around the corner! In this post, I share some Halloween costumes that I’ve done over the years. I put these quick looks together with an Amazon order or with items I already owned! So here are some easy to put together looks when you need a last minute costume.
In 2015, it was my fiancé and I’s first official Halloween together! We had a Halloween themed Music Festival to attend in our hometown in Miami, so we had to come up with a last minute costume for the event. I ordered a set of cupid wings and arrows from Amazon and grabbed a red bodysuit and knee high socks to complete the look. My boyfriend used bed sheets to create a toga. If cupid has a chokehold on you, then this is the costume for you.
Another fun idea Halloween is The Wizard of Oz! My boyfriend bought silver body paint and simple dollar store props, like the heart necklace and cone for his head, to become the Tin Man. I wanted to be dress up as a scarecrow, so I did some quick makeup, grabbed a straw hat and was ready to go! I loved this look! So comfortable and easy to put together with clothing I had readily available.
In 2017, I had one of my all time favorite Halloween costumes! Freddy Kreuger. I bought the Freddy claws on Amazon and then dressed up an old men’s sweater my boyfriend had hidden away. I had to think about a costume to go along with mine for my boyfriend…so we pulled together some men’s pajamas and a teddy bear, and he was ready for Halloween night! Add some Freddy scratch marks and you’re set.
This last minute look was Circus inspired! I bought a dollar store top hat and cane, put on a red blazer and I became the Ring Leader. My boyfriend bought a white mask and gloves and became a Mime for the night! The mask can be replaced with white face paint, if you’re really in the dressing up spirit!
Another great couples costume idea is Disney characters. I dressed as Cruella de Vil and my boyfriend became my henchmen! It was my first Halloween with our pup Luna, so we had to include her in the mix! She became a Dalmatian (we bought a cow print sweater on Amazon for her, I couldn’t find a Dalmatian print dog outfit in her size!). I ordered Dalmatian print fabric to use as a scarf, and a Cruella de Vil wig/accessories to complete the look. My boyfriend dressed in black/gray to complete his look as my trusty henchmen.
My most recent look was Pennywise from IT. I put together this outfit with mostly clothing items I already had in my closet. I was able to make my own tulle ruffled clown collar piece, by ordering the tulle material. Lastly, I added some pennywise makeup to seal the look. My pup put on her yellow raincoat to mimic Georgie, while my boyfriend wore his backpack and baseball tee to look like Billy.
