Heading to the beach for a weekender or for a day trip near the ocean? Here are a few ideas for what to bring on your next trip to the beach! This post includes affiliate links.
We all know the basics to bring to the beach, including sunglasses (not just a fashion staple, you’ll need them for those sunny days), sunscreen (always needed!), and a phone charger (just in case). Here are a few others that may be needed for your next beach day!
Water bottle/plenty of water: It’s important to stay hydrated during your beach day or beach getaway. Too much heat can make us dehydrated very quickly, so bringing plenty of water is crucial. Here’s a good choice of bottle to help keep your liquids cold – Hydro Cell Stainless Steel Water Bottle.
Fruits and snacks: If you’re planning on spending a few hours, then packing a lunch may be a great alternative. Packing snacks and fruits is a good way to help keep your energy up.
A beach umbrella / tent to stay cool: Taking an umbrella or beach tent/cabana to help stay cool and avoid the sun is a good choice! You’ll have a bit of shade while enjoying the waves.
Beach towels or beach mats: Don’t forget to bring your beach towels! You can also use beach mats and beach chairs to lounge on the sand.
Cooling mats for your pets: I always bring my cooling mat when taking my dog to the beach. These are great for keeping your pets cool on hot summer days. I purchased my dog cooling mat at Marshalls and they can be found in local pet stores, but I found this one on Amazon that seems like a great choice – BomGaroto Portable Pet Mat.
A good book or games: Bring a good book to enjoy by the water. For a more sporty day out in the sun, bring a beach ball! I always bring a football to enjoy a game on the sand.
Goggles: Once immersed in the ocean, you can explore the waters and spot some marine life!
Change of clothing: If you want to freshen up or change into non-sandy and dry clothing after a long day in the sun. You’ll have a pair of dry, clean clothing to change into.
